New menu introduced at Top Golf

This press release showed up in my inbox and I had to share. I first wrote about Top Golf for a travel article I wrote for a regional newspaper a couple years ago. My golf experience is limited to the miniature courses, but I instantly loved the concept of this place. It is technology meets the sport of golf, using balls equipped with microchips to help you measure the progress of your practice. It also bring the social aspect to golfing, allowing it to be an activity mixed with good food and drink and creating a fun outing for family or friends. Top Golf has introduced some new menu items, so I wanted to share them. Take a look:

Newly Appointed Executive Chef Brings Fresh Taste of Fun to TopGolf Menu Items Nationwide

DALLAS (July 30, 2012) - TopGolf, the premier golf entertainment facility, announced today the unveiling of a brand new menu, created by newly hired Executive Chef and culinary mastermind, Mark Boyton. TopGolf’s new menu will be available at all existing U.S. sites (Wood Dale, Ill.,  Dallas and Allen, Texas) on Monday July 30, 2012 and in Alexandria, Va on Monday, Aug. 6.

“We are excited to introduce a fun and more diverse menu, adapting to our surroundings as we expand to new cities with different palates and food trends,” said Executive Chef Mark Boyton. “We consulted with a group of regular TopGolf patrons on what they would like to see on the menu. I was excited to put my own spin on the new menu with dishes that excite and exceed our guest’s expectations.”

Highlights from the new TopGolf menu will include:
  • Flatbreads – Crispy, delicious and great for sharing, the perfect size to share friends while you’re playing TopGolf with friends.
  • Gourmet Burgers – TopGolf’s new gourmet burgers come fully loaded. TopGolf-ers can go original, with the classic burger or spice it up with burgers like the Smokehouse or Feta Spiked Turkey.
  • Jim Beam Devil’s Cut Brisket Chili – A TopGolf original, combining our house-smoked brisket, chuck and short rib chili with Jim Beam’s Devil’s Cut bourbon. Served with a sweet corn muffin
Boyton has been with TopGolf for three years, having previously worked as the TopGolf Food and Beverage Operations Manager for all United Kingdom locations. Before TopGolf, Boyton worked as a chef at David and Victoria Beckham's wedding and for Princess Von Furstenburg. Boyton also worked as a private chef for a lending house in the financial industry and for families in their homes throughout the UK. In addition, he was a chef in the House of Commons, located in the London Parliament. Boyton attended Westminster College where he received the “Practical Chef of the Year” award in his first year.

About TopGolf:TopGolf is a revolutionary sports entertainment complex, perfect for any occasion, event or private party. The idea for TopGolf was born by two brothers on a driving range in London. Bored of the repetition of hitting shot after shot, they wanted to find out how far their drives really went, and how close to the pin their shots landed. And so, the concept for TopGolf began. Each golf ball contains a computer microchip that tracks your shots accuracy and distance, while awarding points for hitting targets ranging from 20 - 250 yards away. Thanks to innovative golf games, a fun atmosphere and a great food and drink menu, TopGolf is far from the average bar or golf complex.

TopGolf has four locations in the U.S. (Wood Dale, IL, Alexandria, VA, Dallas and Allen, Texas) and three in the UK (Chigwell, Essex, Addlestone, Surrey and Watford, Herts).  With two more locations scheduled to open in the United States in 2012, TopGolf continues to cement itself as the golf entertainment destination.
