Chicago Foodie Sisters talk corned beef on WJOB 1230 AM

Carrie from the Chicago Foodie Sisters was a guest on the show EAT! with Raymundo Garcia and Chef Terry Zych this morning to talk about corned beef. We covered some of the tips that were covered in last week's Food article in the Northwest Indiana Times, a little on Irish food traditions and I gave some of my thoughts on places to get good corned beef. So, if you missed the radio segment this morning, these were my recommendations for where to get your Irish on with some tasty corned beef:

1) J J Kelleys in Lansing
They're serving up corned beef platters and Irish samplers at this fun neighborhood pub and tomorrow you can try the St. Patrick's Day lunch buffet for $13.95 with Reubens, corned beef, whitefish, shephard's pie, desserts and more. 20+ items. Live Irish music in the evening.
2) Howard & Sons Quality Meats in Munster
Grab a corned beef dinner to go complete with Irish soda bread from this meat market cooked up by Chef Phillipe.
3) Nelson's Saloon in Three Oaks, Michigan
Best corned beef north of the border.
4) Lynnie Ques BBQ in Lansing
Get a smoked corned beef to go from this classic BBQ carry-out.
5) Weber Grill Restaurant Lombard (official) in Lombard, Chicago and Schaumburg
Visit for a slow smoked corned beef dinner with grilled vegetables in an upscale setting.
6) T.J. Maloney's Authentic Irish Pub in Merrillville
You can get your Irish on all year long at this restaurant inside the RadissonHotel at Star Plaza. Corned beef is on the dinner menu daily along with other Irish specialties like Irish Poutine, Beer and Cheddar Fondue, Guinness Onion Soup, Colcannon and Irish Stout Chili.
7) Round The Clock Family Restaurant in Schererville, Highland and Lansing
Corned beef dinners served today and tomorrow, Reubens are on the daily menu.
8) Foodie's Market Cafe in Dyer
The reuben here is piled high on marbled rye. Split the huge sandwich with a friend and add a cup of the Steak and Ale soup.
9) South Bend Chocolate Cafe Valpo in Valparaiso
A surprisingly good Reuben awaits you at this little cafe so you have something to go with that good chocolate.
And I didn't get to my #10 on air, but The Farmhouse Restaurant at Fair Oaks Farms in Fair Oaks, IN has a phenomenal Reuben. The cafe at the farm offers a good one, but the Farmhouse Restaurant elevates is dramatically.
Don't forget some Irish Soda Bread from Calumet Bakery in Lansing, Chicago and Whiting.
