Locavore Farm holds "Dine on the Land" dinner preview

So, through a mutual friend I learned about a small family farm not too far from me that will be hosting some cool upcoming events that involve great food. You know those popular (and pricey) farm to fork, seed to table dinners that are so common at upscale eateries in and around Chicago? Well, this place - Locavore Farm - will be presenting similar dinners (but family-friendly ones at more reasonable prices) right there on the land where much of the food is produced. The 5+-acre farm is located on County Line Road in Grant Park.

I had an opportunity to attend a rehearsal dinner for their upcoming "Dine on the Land" dinners this summer season and the experience was truly magical. We chatted with cocktails, toured the farm, enjoyed an upscale hearty meal at a looooong table surrounded by family and friends of the farmers, watched little ones roll down hills and cast fishing poles, then we lingered listening to live music as the sun set, followed by a fun gathering around a bonfire. The details were amazing - as if someone had spent dozens of hours scouring Pinterest to pull it together. It honestly felt like a staged photo shoot for Country Living magazine. Some touches were so rural and rustic and others so trendy and modern. The overall atmosphere was completely idyllic and the evening I spent there was absolutely blissful. Right now I'm just going to share some pics to show you what I'm talking about, but stay tuned for more...

  1. It was all our pleasure! Can't wait to see folks on June 20 when we will have 4 seatings for dinner and Fetching Market will have their Pop-Up vintage and handcrafted market for some of the best fair shopping this summer.
